Helping Hand to Volunteer Project

Helping Hand to Volunteer Project

Welcome to the Helping Hand to Volunteer Project! The project is funded by the UK Government through the Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) through to March 2025. The initiative, led by the Gwynedd Volunteer Centre, is dedicated to empowering individuals and strengthening communities across Gwynedd by connecting passionate volunteers with opportunities to make a meaningful difference.
The main objective of the scheme is to provide bespoke one-to-one support for individuals who have additional support needs, and who may benefit from extra support to get in to volunteering. The support is an extension of our existing brokerage service where our dedicated officer will guide individuals throughout the volunteering process, matching them to suitable placements, support in filling in forms, site visits, and above all to provide a hand by attending the initial occasions with the volunteers to get them settled in.

About the Project

The Helping Hand to Volunteer Project aims to:

  • Inspire individuals who have additional support needs to volunteer by showcasing the wide range of opportunities available.
  • Support local organisations by matching them with committed volunteers.
  • Enhance personal and professional development for volunteers through guidance, training, and mentorship.

Our vision is to create a vibrant volunteering culture that enriches lives and builds stronger, more resilient communities.
