June 2009 Winners of the “Wales Volunteer of the Year 2009” from Gwynedd Through this award, an opportunity is provided annually to acknowledge and appreciate committed volunteers who have made a difference in their communities. Throughout Wales, 215 nominations were received, nine of them from Gwynedd. Click here to see the winners... Ocotober 2008 The Gwynedd Volunteer Centre organised a special event in Ty Siamas, Dolgellau to mark ‘Make a Difference Day’ on Friday, 24th October, 2008. Click here fore more... October/November 2008 During October and November 2008, the Gwynedd Volunteer Centre organised three training days for volunteers. A very good response was received, and all three courses were full to capacity. August 2008 June 2008 The first week in June is well established as Volunteers’ Week. The three R’s summarises the aims of the week in that it hopes to Recognise, Reward and Recruit Volunteers. Click here for more .... June 2008 Through this award, an opportunity is provided annually to acknowledge and appreciate committed volunteers who have made a difference in their communities. The Award is administered by the Wales Council of Voluntary Associations, and in December, each year, a challenge is set to people across Wales to nominate someone special who has inspired them by what they do as a volunteer. Click here for more ........ 15th April 2008 The Gwynedd Children & Families Forum held a very successful conference at click here for more info June 2007 September 2006 This extremely important piece of work was commissioned by Mantell Gwynedd in 2006. Financial support for this project was obtained from Cyngor Gwynedd (Chief Executive’s Department and Older People’s Strategy), Welsh Development Agency, (North and Mid Wales) and Gwynedd Local Health Board. Mantell Gwynedd itself made a significant financial contribution out of its reserve funds towards the cost of the project and also managed and co-ordinated the entire process. Menter a Busnes were commissioned in January 2006 to undertake the work and the process of collecting data commenced in February 2006.November/December 2006 Two well-being events, organised by Mantell Gwynedd and Anheddau Cyf, were held recently aimed at workers of the voluntary sector, carers and volunteers,. The first event was held at the Cricket Club, Bangor on November 30th and the second was held at the Leisure Centre in Dolgellau on the 12th of December. Click here for more... August 2005 With the National Eisteddfod on Mantell Gwynedd’s doorstep at Stad Y Faenol in 2005, we saw an ideal opportunity to ensure the Third Sector in Gwynedd was given a prominent spot on the Eisteddfod field. A Steering Group was formed within Mantell to co-ordinate and plan a central location on the Eisteddfod field and a calendar of events and activities were organised for the week. |
