The Engagement Gateway
BACKGROUND
The Engagement Gateway is a Convergence project which offer contracts to organisations in the Third Sector, as well as Statutory and Private sector to reduce economic inactivity in Wales by investing in organisations that work with those outside of mainstream employment and furthest from the labour market.
The project is managed by Welsh Council for Voluntary Action with an advisor in each area of North Wales:

NEWS
CHANGES
From April 1st 2011 organisations who are included on the Approved Suppliers List
will not be tendering for CONTRACTS, but applying for COMPETATIVE GRANTS. Therefore if organisation are successful under the scheme, they will not sign a CONTRACT but a TERMS AND CONDITIONS. With a CONTRACT should any problems arise WCVA would to take specific legal steps to rectify the matter. With a TERMS AND CONDITIONS agreement they can just ask the organisation to repay any monies that has already been paid to them.

MATCH FUNDING
Following discussions with a number of organisations who intend to tender for contracts the main problem seems to be Match Funding. If you require any further information on how to access to funding you can contact Carys Williams or Delyth Vaughan at Mantell Gwynedd.

This is a project which runs alongside the Engagement Gateway. For more information go to the WCVA website www.wcva.org.uk.
