RNIB
RNIB provide services for blind and partially sighted people
The volunteering role is to assist customers in their own home with technological devices computers, digital tv, DVD players, mobile phones and other household applicances.Also to assist with the Taling Books player.
Good communication skills, an interest in consumer electronics and enjoy meeting and befriending people are required.

Volunteer co-ordinator for the Alzheimers Society
The Alzheimers Society champion the rights of everyone with dementia and those who care for them. A Volunteer co-ordinator is needed to facilitate the recruitment and selection of volunteers. To provide support to new and existing volunteers.

Assist with on train services
The Caernarfon - Porthmadog railway would appreciate volunteers to help with the on train services. Tasks to include welcoming passengers on board the train, provide local information and serve refreshments from the trolley. Trains run everyday from March to November, and the return journey at present takes 2.5 hours. Someone who likes meeting peolpe and has a friendly outgoing manner. Welshspeaking would be an advantage.

Voluntary Car Drivers
The Welsh Ambulance Service aim to increase the numbers of cars available to convey non-emergency patients to medical appointments. Voluntary car drivers (using their own cars) are required to transport patients from the patients' home address to various hospitals and clinics.
Volunteers need to be fit and healthy, be a car owner and have a clean driving licence. Expenses are paid, 38p per mile, and are based on miles travelled.

Visitor Services Assistant
The National Trust have an accommodation centre in Beddgelert, and offer an opportunity for a volunteer to assist with the day to day running of Craflwyn Hall.
The National Trust protect and open areas of countryside, coastland, historic houses and gardens. Volunteers require good communications skills, and enjoy being part of a team.

WRVS Meet and greet volunteers
WRVS are recruiting volunteers to help out in Ysbyty Gwynedd - to meet and greet the public as they enter the hospital, and then guide and help them to find their destination in within Ysbyty Gwynedd.
WRVS delivers practical support through the power of volunteering to enable people to get more out of life, especially the elderly.

Mobile Youth Project Volunteer Co-ordinator
British Red Cross runs a detached youth project which aims to work in remote and rural areas with vulnerable young people primarily aged between 13 and 18. Through the mobile project, young people get access to youth information and social education. Volunteers are required for day-to-day management of the mobile Youth project and to work face to face with young people.
Volunteers are required between 5 and 9 (Monday to Thursday) and occasionally during school holidays. A full driving licence will also be required.
The ability to work as part of a team and to be reliable and punctual

The Llanberis Organic Wholefood Co-operative
Aim to encourage healthy living and healthy eating in the local community. They operate a shop in Llanberis called 'Saffron'.

A volunteer Book-keeper is required for basic accounts - advising on payments and ordering stock. Approx 2 hrs per week. Experience of book-keeping for a small business an advantage and also of working with co-operatives and volunteers. This opportunity is home based at the moment.

WRVS telephone befriending service
The WRVS telephone befriending service provides the residents of Gwynedd with a social call just to chat and keep in touch. This is not a supported role.
Volunteers need to be good listeners and have a friendly telephone manner. Age 50+

WRVS
Help with local 'Good Neighbour scheme' – Women’s Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS)
WRVS helps people to maintain independence and dignity in their homes and community particularly in later life. A new 'Good Neighbour scheme" is starting in Bangor in April 2008, and volunteers are needed to help with assorted tasks such as assisted shopping, gardening, or general befriending.
Volunteers require good listening / interpersonal skills.

Leukaemia Care
CARE Volunteers

Leukaemia Care needs volunteers to provide emotional support to those affected by Leukaemia, Lymphoma and allied blood disorders, particularly to those who have contacted their 24 hour CARE Line. Volunteers will be the listening ear - someone that will empower patients to get through difficult times. Sometimes that support will be provided by telephone, sometimes it may be on a face to face basis in the caller's home or at the hospital. CARE Volunteers also help to raise awareness of the charity.
Volunteers must have experience of Cancer as they will have invaluable experience to pass on to those needing support. Time is flexible, but a minimum of 4 hours per week is expected.

Breast Cancer Campaign
Regional Volunteer –

Would you like to help Breast Cancer Campaign continue researching the cure for breast cancer? Do you have skills and spare time that you would like to put to good use? Breast Cancer Campaign need volunteers across the UK to raise awareness and funds in their local community.
You can choose a volunteer role to suit your interests and availability. Whether it is being part of a regional group, helping out at local and national events or organising an event of your own - there is a role for you!

The Stroke Association
Administration Volunteer –

The office of the Stroke Association at Bodfan, Ysbyty Eryri, Caernarfon needs a volunteer to help out with general administrative tasks to include filing, photocopying, take telephone messages etc.
The mission of the the Stroke Association is to prevent strokes and to reduce their effect through providing services, campaigning, education and research.

Gateway Gardens Trust
Help with visits to gardens – Gateway Gardens’ Trust

Gateway Gardens Trust create free, tailor-made visits to gardens in Wales and the West Midlands for members of the community who for many reasons find it difficult to access this part of Britain's historic environment. Visits are usually for half a day (either morning or afternoon), and volunteers are required to help people enjoy the experience!
Transport and admission costs will be covered by the organisation. Knowledge and love of gardening or gardening history would be an advantage, but enthusiasm is a must! All volunteers need to undertake a CRB check.

Volunteer Youth Worker - Camre Cymunedol
Camre Cymunedol aims to help with personal development of young people by participation in outdoor and community development activities.
Volunteer Youth Workers will be working with 16 - 24 year olds on a sustainable community project and various outdoor activities days culminating in a 7 day expedition. Enhanced CRB check will be held and a good level of physical fitness is required.

Leukaemia Care
Leukaemia CARE is a national charity committed to providing care and support to everybody who's life has been affected by blood cancers. They need:
1) Awareness Volunteers in all areas to deliver publications, posters etc to GP surgeries, libraries, sports centres etc. Out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
2) Fundraisers
3) Care Volunteers to provide emotional support to those affected by Leukaemia and allied blood disorders.

Cylch Meithrin Assistant
Cylch Meithrin Criccieth provide care and early years welsh education to children who are 2 1/2 years old and need an assistant to help the group leader with every day tasks during their morning sessions - looking after the children and helping them with their activities. The Cylch meet in the mornings from 9 - 11.30am
Desirable skills include the ability to communicate with children, patience, abillity to speak welsh or learning welsh; the ability to work in a team. This opportunity is suitable for young volunteers from 16+ years old.

Planning Aid Wales
Planning Aid Wales is a charity which provides free, professional and independent advice and support on all aspects of land use planning in Wales.

We are looking for volunteers to help deliver training and other support to community groups. PAW also produces publications and learning materials that explain the planning system to non-experts. Here you can volunteer to write some of the content or you can help with translation proofreading or illustrations. You do not need to be a planner to do this, but for helping with events facilitation, teaching or mediation skills are useful.
